A tested and proven experience of spiritual transformation for leaders
The Transforming Center offers a reduced cost for pastors, church staff and leaders of Christian not-for-profits. This subsidy is made possible by the generosity of individuals, churches, and foundations.
Costs are all inclusive except travel costs and books. Payment is spread out over the two-year period.
What is included in the fees?
- Private room and bath for two nights
- Five meals, beginning with dinner on Sunday evening; great coffee and generous, healthy refreshments throughout
- Five teaching sessions on the personal and community aspects of each theme
- Fixed-hour prayer and worship experiences in community (morning, mid-day, evening and night)
- Retreat materials (including handouts, articles, prayers, guidance for between retreats)
- Reflections on the psychological dynamics of the spiritual formation process
- Practical guidance for practicing spiritual disciplines personally and in community, with specific application to your own life in leadership
- Group Spiritual Direction with six or fewer members who will remain consistent throughout the two-year experience
- Guidance for meeting with a spiritual friend/spiritual director in-between retreats
- Quarterly assignments that provide guidance for integrating the disciplines in your ministry context plus substantive reading assignments and written reflections.
- Online community forum that offers the opportunity to communicate with the community in-between retreats
- Final project that clearly describes and articulates one's personal rule of life
Transforming Community
- $250 non-refundable registration fee. Due upon acceptance to secure your spot.
- $695 per retreat
- $495 discounted rate for pastors, church staff and leaders of Christian not-for-profits*
Additional Options: Individual spiritual direction available at a slight additional fee. CEU certificate available upon completion of all requirements, submission of request form and $50 fee.
Attendance and Financial Commitment: A decision to join the two-year Transforming Community is a commitment to attend and participate in each of the eight retreats. All parties recognize that emergencies arise and it may be unavoidable to miss a particular retreat. However, after attendance at the first retreat, the commitment to the Community is the commitment to pay for each of the eight quarterly retreats whether attending or absent from that particular retreat.
